Herbs

We have a lot of different herbs in our garden. My favourite type is mint and rosemary.
We use thyme most of all. Every year we have to chop a little bit of the bush that they grow on off because if we didn't, then our whole garden will be filled with herb bushes!
We put the bit that we chopped off in the cupboard and use them for cooking.

Birdwatching

Yesterday I went bird watching.
I actually watched them from my bedroom window with binoculars and a bird watching book.
They were some goldfinches, a robin and a chaffinch.
They were very pretty and all had very bright colours.
I watched them for a while and then wrote all about them.
Here is what I wrote:

Goldfinch- Feeds on thistle seeds and other weed seeds in open places. Nests in trees. Are about 12cm.

Robin- Woodland bird that is familiar in gardens. Sings in winter and spring."Tic tic" is its call of alarm. Is about 14cm long.

Chaffinch- Found in gardens and werever there are trees and bushes. Often seen in flocks on farmland in winter. Are about 15cm.
